Why MLM Training Is About Listening   no comments

Posted at 11:34 pm in Uncategorized

MLM training is something that calls for a balance between aggressive motivation and a sensitive concern for other people's needs. When going forward with how to approach people and how to bring up the topic of business, it needs to be noted that people will first see whether you are truly concerned about them. If you look at everyone like they have a dollar sign on their head, then they are not going to be receptive to anything you say.

The key to talking to people is to listen. By listening to what they say in a casual conversation or when they are telling you about what makes them feel overwhelmed, they will end up telling you how your business could fit into their lives. You need to think about how you could actually help them versus how they could help grow your business.

Running over objections is no way to win people over. In order for them to see the potential in what you're offering, they need to see how it can fit into their lives on a daily basis. When they feel like something is worth the effort, they will make room in their schedule for things that wouldn't normally be acceptable to them.

It's very important to keep it real and not exaggerate the benefits of your company. When you're talking to someone and you need to stretch the truth just to get them interested, you are wasting both your time and theirs. Once they do begin to work with you and then fail to see the results you promised, they will only end up as a failed testimony, always against the idea from then on.

The same concept applies when you are looking for leads. If your friends and family feel truly excited about the possibilities after you show them how a certain business can benefit their lives, they are going to be very anxious to tell others about it. Their excitement will help you reach people you had not known before that, and would maybe have never met unless a first contact was made through someone else.

People who already work in network marketing are familiar with what it takes to be successful. It is your job to show them why the effort is worth it to start working with you, and put their efforts towards a business they are unfamiliar with. Of course, keep everything positive and exciting about what they are working on. Putting them on the defensive will only create a negative feeling from them that will last a long time.

The world wide web is the greatest resource we have at our fingertips. When you use your social network to spread the word about your company, it is natural for friends and family to share that success with you. In fact, when you do post those exciting statuses and stories, it opens up natural opportunities to talk about what you do.

MLM training is about teaching people basic concepts. Caring, feeling, and paying attention are all necessary components of relating to people, earning their trust, and sharing something that can change their lives. By keeping their success goals ahead of yours, you will make a change in the world around you, leaving a special legacy of happy, successful people.

How to Video Marketing   no comments

Posted at 4:29 pm in Uncategorized

Everyone thinks they know how to make a video. Slap up the camera, turn it on, start talking. After several minutes (maybe more than several), turn off the camera and slap it up on Youtube. Simple, right?

Not really. We’ve all watched dozens of bad videos, ones we are reluctant to watch again, but sometimes are forced to. Wouldn’t it be nice to have videos to watch that are concise, organized, relatively short and include necessary links and information OUTSIDE the video?

The how to of video marketing isn’t really all that complicated. The main thing is to put some thought into the video BEFORE you produce it.

The number one mistake most video marketers make is that their videos are too long and usually rambling. Some believe viewers will appreciate your jokes or turn of a phrase, so they make their videos a little more complex, which turns out to be a lot longer. Don’t make this mistake.

Most marketers are watching a video for one reason only: information, and NOT to be entertained. If they can smile and enjoy the process, great, but that’s NOT the reason they’re watching. So get that idea out of your head.

Videos should be no longer than five minutes, and under no circumstances longer than ten minutes. People simply don’t have the patience to watch a video any longer than that. If you have so much information that you need to go longer than then minutes, break your training up into a series of videos.

Before doing anything, make a short outline for your video. This includes writing a series of points you want to make. Start with an introduction, where it’s a good idea to grab your viewers attention. This is the one place where you can ramble a bit. Tell a story, use a quote or do something else to gain attention. After you’ve decided how you want to start, write down all the points you want to make. There should be at least three and no more than five. Get these points in your head. You don’t have to write a script, but you should have a general outline of what you want to do.

Then, practice a time or two. Your completed video should not be the first version you make. Figure out if the main points you are making flow from one to the other, or if they should be rearranged. Try to use some examples to illustrate your points, so you’ll be understood.

Don’t be afraid to repeat yourself, especially if it’s something connected to making you money. Repeat the web address several times if necessary, for example.

Make your video as mistake-free as possible. If something doesn’t work the first time, try it again.

Speak up, and make sure your microphone is working correctly. Nothing is worse than a video where you can’t understand what is being said. We’ve all seen those.

Once your video is complete, don’t be afraid to edit in some cover video. If you have a detached webcam, or a regular video camera, you can shoot your computer screen to illustrate a point you’re trying to make. A how to video about video cameras might include some video of a camera mounted on a tripod, for example. You might also consider videotaping someone else, and editing sound bites from them into your video. This is almost never done on the web, but it’s a technique you see all the time on TV. It certainly makes for a more informative video. Yes, it takes more work, but it’s worth it.

Finally, keep your title and summary simple, and if you mention links or other hard to remember information, write it down and distribute it with your video. You can also consider linking to that information, and including the link with the video for distribution. This way, people will be able to follow along and won’t necessarily have to go back and listen to your video again to get the information.

Have MLM fun and enjoy network marketing!   no comments

Posted at 6:50 pm in Uncategorized

I listened to an audio on Easter Sunday that gave me a great way to look at my network business. In fact, it gave me a way to have “MLM fun” and enjoy network marketing a little more. The audio is from a guy named Alan Cosens, and he talks about how the whole point of MLM is getting more people to join in the game, not just to score more points from yourself. He described how if MLM were played on a field, the players would invite spectators to come down to the field and join in!

That’s what makes MLM fun. It put me in mind of a game I used to play as a very young teenager called Release. I don’t recall all the rules, but I do recall that there were two teams, and we got all the kids in the neighborhood, from the ages of 3 to about 17 to play. It was a game sort of like tag, where we all hid and then tagged each other when we found members of the other team. It’s kind of ironic, in that I can’t remember specific rules but can remember the fun we had playing it. And what made it fun was all the different sorts of people who played it — from the cute little girl who could barely understand what she was supposed to do to the cute guy who was a couple years older than you.

Granted, we’re all a lot older now but are we really wiser? Yes, there’s money involved in MLM but isn’t the whole point of getting into it the fact that you want to enjoy network marketing? You want a life with a little less stress? Here’s a link to Alan Cosen’s audio. You can also check out his video on conversions.

In the meantime, you can find out how I enjoy network marketing and the specifics of my MLM fun opportunity by contacting me to using the contact form to the right. Enjoy yourselves this week!

Get Paid for Writing Online   4 comments

Posted at 6:52 pm in Uncategorized

If you want to get paid for writing online, you have to know how to write. And as much as you hated those English composition classes in high school or college, something valuable was being offered.

You may or may not know that there are many ways to make money writing online. The most popular is probably article writing to help increase traffic to a homepage. You might be scratching your head about the best way to go about writing an article to bring attention to your or a client’s website.

It’s not so difficult. Go back to those classes you learned in high school. First you have to decide the main point you are trying to make. For example: “I want to write an article about how to get paid for writing online.”

You write an introduction designed to catch your readers attention.Try something catch. Use a quote or tell a story. These type of techniques help draw someone in to your article.

Don’t bother about quoting all your qualifications. That will be obvious if your article is good enough. But don’t ramble on too long before you present that thesis.. Simply state your purpose, toward the end of the first paragraph. Say “I can help you get paid to write online.”

Before you continue, write a list of at least three points you want to make in your article. Your most important point should be presented either first or last. Then write at least one or two paragraphs about each point. Once again, use illustrations and examples to make your writing more interesting,

Also consider using images for your articles. There’s a wealth of clip art images out there. And before mentioning the old saw about a picture and a thousand words, I’ll give you another tip: try to avoid cliches. There is so much bad writing there — if you DON’T use cliches, your article will be one rung above other articles.

Don’t forget to include links in your articles to the pages you want to promote. You can find article-writing software to submit your articles to ensure you get backlinks to your blog or website.

As you end your article, review the main points you made, as well as your thesis. Use another anecdote, story or quote to finish your article to make it memorable. And that’s the simple way to get paid for writing online.

Easter ponderings   no comments

Posted at 2:56 am in Uncategorized

Today is Easter. Earlier, (Saturday) I read a link on a Facebook post relating to that oh so famous book “The Secret” which was very popular a couple of years ago. In essence, the article asked – “What if the Secret just isn’t doing it for you?” …”What if attraction marketing doesn’t work as well as you thought it could?”

While I was in church tonight, it occurred to me that Easter — and the risen Jesus Christ — is the antithesis to the “Secret” — to “attraction marketing” — to “new age” progress and “old age” sorcery and all the rest of it. Jesus Christ is the only “magic” there is, and he’s totally whitehat. And you don’t have to pay a penny for him, not even for an e-book.

The ironic thing is that Jesus Christ is open to everyone, but not everyone is open to HIM. I remember an old song called Signs. The linked lyrics are a little dirtier than what we heard on the radio at the time, but the Five Man Electrical Band got it right. We’re alive and doin’ fine, and we should be grateful about this instead of looking for some kind of magic to solve our problems.

If you acknowledge God he will acknowledge you. Happy Easter everybody. I hope you meet the Risen Jesus Christ today.

Having Trouble Writing Articles for Article Marketing?   1 comment

Posted at 4:00 pm in Uncategorized

Most new marketers don’t even like the thought of writing articles, let alone the
chore of actually writing them. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Yes, learning to
write grammatically and correctly can be tough. Some of that can be solved by using
spell-check software, and more can be solved by having someone else read your articles
to catch mistakes.

But that’s not the problem I want to solve today. While correcting and spinning
articles can be a tedious process, the biggest challenge for many is simply coming up
with ideas. “How can I find a subject worth 500 words?” many ask.

The truth is, there are countless topics you can write about — and 500 words
aren’t really that many once you get going. First, you have to find a topic that you’re
at least mildly interested in. Try to be open and not be off by saying “It’s too boring
a subject” or “I detest anything about that subject.” Think about educating yourself.

But what if you don’t even have an idea?

Start with a theme — perhaps MLM companies,or pay-per-click marketing,
or motivational quotes. Then look around you. Find somethin that complements
your chosen topic. Creativity has been defined as the combination of two radically
different subjects — dogs and velvet, daisies and saucers, ants and giraffes.

The same holds true for article marketing. Choose an MLM company, for example a
vitamin supplier, and write about whether any of the ingredients used in the product come
from a tree. Or, short of that, natural vegetation. Or, for an article centering on inspirational
quotes to motivate marketers, find quotes from a woman who traveled — door to door — if necessary,
such as the founder of Avon.

There is no shortage of possibilities. Once you’ve found your topic, don’t just make up
your article. Research on the web, and don’t be afraid to pick up the phone. It’s easy to
find experts in your chosen field. Just call someone you find quoted on the web, and get
a fresh quote for your article. He or she will probably be happy to oblige. You can even
provide a link back to your expert’s website if requested.

Don’t be afraid to try fresh new approaches to article marketing. If you
approach the project like a journalist would, you may find that you actually enjoy
the process of brainstorming for articles, researching and writing them!

With the new year…   no comments

Posted at 4:03 pm in Uncategorized

I’d like to give the blog a bit more of a Pittsburgh focus.  The Superbowl is what’s in the headlines here, with the Steelers playing the Packers on Sunday. I ran across this http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/31012011/2/superbowl-magnet-under-age-sex-trade.html today, discussing the possible child sex trade in Dallas. Not the typical joyful Superbowl angle. It was generated in Europe, after all. Hard to believe they’re interested in the Superbowl at all. I’m not quite so rah-rah this year, or convinced they’ll win. The Packers  are a good team and you might say the Steelers are due to lose. That’s heresy, I know, but still my true thoughts.
